New Blood was the first time using the new arena and was a way to offer a sort of qualifier to unseen robots and unknown potential. It also introduced the new filming technique, which was freecam, allowing for better shots of the action, at the expense of seeing a computer mouse on screen dragging the camera about. This also had fully A.I. controlled robots rather than having a user controlled one, allowing for more fair action to take place. It also happened to have been released when Series 10 of Robot Wars aired.
